Sizing is the reason most people close the tab. You cannot try it on, the garment is coming from Morocco, and a chart full of chest measurements does not tell you what you actually want to know, which is: what do I order?
Here is the short answer, and then the longer one.
The short answer
Order your usual US shirt size. S to S, M to M, L to L, XL to XL, XXL to 2XL. That is right for most people, most of the time.
Three exceptions:
- If you like your clothes noticeably loose and you are an M, order L.
- If you are taller than about six foot two, email before you order.
- If you are broad built, or you are a 2XL and also tall, email before you order.

Why Moroccan sizing works this way
A djellaba is not tailored to the body the way a shirt is. It hangs from the shoulders and falls straight, and the room is built into the cut rather than added by sizing up. That is why the chest measurement on a size M looks alarming next to a shirt: the garment measures 48 inches around because it is meant to drape, not to fit.
So the usual instinct, which is to size up because it looks small on the chart, is usually wrong. Sizing up on a piece that already has room built in gets you something that swamps you and drags at the hem.
The two measurements that actually matter
If you own a thobe or djellaba already, lay it flat and measure two things.
Length, shoulder to hem. This is the one people get wrong. Most men want the hem sitting at the ankle bone, not on the floor. Our sizes run 56 inches at S to 64 inches at 2XL. If you are 5 foot 8 and a size L at 60 inches feels long on paper, it probably is.
Chest, across and doubled. Compare it to the chart rather than to your own chest. You are matching garment to garment.
If you do not own one, do not go hunting for a tape measure. Your shirt size and your height are enough, and that is exactly what the size finder asks for.
When to just email me

You get me, not a support desk, and I would much rather spend two minutes on that than have you order the wrong size and wait three weeks to find out.
